This was the first book I published on the Kindle Direct Publishing platform. It discusses how to find information on the social web, how to know what to trust, and how to manage the information you find. One criterion often mentioned for evaluating information is the “currency” of a source, as in when it was created or updated. With that in mind I wish to caution you that this book (on the theme of social media and the internet) was written in 2012.
There are definitely many sections of the book that stand the test of time, but eventually I’d like to write a new version incorporating the latest social media, discussing “fake news” and misinformation, and removing the reference to Google Reader (RIP).
If you still do want to get this book, shoot me an email and as a thanks I’ll send you a copy my latest presentation about evaluating information in the age of fake news that I’ve been using with college classes recently.
