Sharing Dayton Vistas with Local Young Professionals

October 4, 2025 by Andrew Walsh Leave a Comment

This week I had the opportunity to participate in a really fun event where I got to share some of my work on Dayton history and urban redevelopment with Generation Dayton’s community of young professionals.

It was called “Gem City Connect: A Guide to Living, Working, and Thriving in Dayton,” hosted by The Hub at the Dayton Arcade.

Attendees were invited to “stroll through interactive stations led by local experts covering everything from personal finance, wellness, and entrepreneurship to community service, Dayton history, and the best ways to enjoy the city.”

I had my own table as the “Dayton history” person, and I set it up with my book, as well as info about my website, newsletter, and YouTube channel. Over the course of the event I had some great conversations with people representing a wide variety of industries, but all of whom shared a passion for Dayton’s rich history as well as working to make it a more vibrant and thriving city today.

I was really happy to have been invited to participate and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with people I met!
